Senior Picture Day is October 17th!

Senior photos are treated differently than regular underclassmen pictures. We spend time with the entire senior class doing a professional photo shoot, and we will be taking several different types of pictures. We are asking seniors to bring changes of clothes according to what they need for the pictures, as well as any items they need to touch up between pictures (hairbrush, hairspray, etc). Pictures will be taken Tuesday, October 17 during the school day, and we general start around first block. Students will be called out of class and will return after all pictures are taken.

    1. Senior Formal Pictures
    2. Senior Casual Pictures
    3. Senior Cap and Gown Pictures
    4. One Group Senior Photo

What do the students need to bring that day?

    • A casual outfit of their choice. Many students opt to dress up for the casuals, as they can use those pictures for other things later on (resumes, etc), but the outfit is up to them. Casual or dressy.
    • Male students may wear their own black tuxedo, if they have one. Or they may use their own black formal jacket. We will provide 3 different sizes of jackets for them to use, but if your student needs a special size, I would encourage them to bring their own to ensure a good fit. I encourage each young man to wear a white button-down shirt.  This will insure a proper fit.  If they do not have a white button-down shirt, one will be provided.
    • Young ladies are encouraged to wear pearl necklaces and/or earrings. If preferred, ladies may choose not to wear jewelry. Young ladies are also encouraged to wear a dark cami underneath clothes so that they may be able to change from the formal drape (which is provided for them) to another outfit.
    • Both male and female students - a white shirt and your khaki school pants. We will all dress in white and khaki for the Group Senior Photo.

Can we buy Senior Pictures?  Absolutely! The following package specials will be offered for two weeks after the photos are published.  I will send an email to the school once the photographs are available for viewing.  After two weeks, these packages and prices will be replaced with higher priced packages.  The digital price will remain the same.  All senior portraits will be edited.  Editing includes blemish removal, skin smoothing, and teeth whitening.

  • Our chess team placed 4th overall at the GISA high school state tournament this Tuesday. We just started the chess club this school year, so it's outstanding to come so far in just a matter of months. We can't wait to see how our chess players (returning and new) do next year!  Congrats to all the students! Thanks to our chess instructor from OrthoChess, the international chess master, Carolina Blanco.

  • Furtah Preparatory School will make every effort to be open whenever possible. There will be days, however when weather conditions will make travel to and from school unsafe for both students and staff. As a rule, we will follow Cherokee County schools on the first day of a weather event. We will make every attempt to get our individual school information out to all local news stations. On the second and subsequent days of a weather event, please look for Furtah specifically as we will follow our own schedule. If a school day is to be shortened or canceled, the announcement will be made by the major television station WSB-TV Channel 2. If no announcement is made on the television or radio, the school will be open. We will also post weather related closing and delays on our official Facebook page and here on the website.
